Tony Romo Game Logs from the 2006 season.
Tony Romo sat patiently on the Cowboys bench for 3 seasons behind veteran Quarterbacks Quincy Carter, Vinny Testaverde and Drew Bledsoe. He watched the Cowboys offense struggle to score points each and every season. When his time came during the 2006 season, he immediately made an impact. He transformed the Cowboys offense into a power house unit capable of scoring on every posession. Under Tony Romo's guideance, the Cowboys offense have become one of the most potent in the league and typically lead the league in offensive stats! The following game logs show the quick progression of an undrafted rookie quarterback to a Super Star Pro Bowl player.
2006 Week 7 (New York Giants 36 @ Dallas Cowboys 22; Tony Romo's 1st Game)
Tony Romo appeared under center for the first time in his NFL career on Monday Night Football on October 23, 2006. He came off the bench after halftime to replace struggling starter Drew Bledsoe. Tony provided an immediate impact simply with his ability to avoid pressure but his inexperience cost him as he threw 3 Interceptions. Still the Cowboys offense showed some spark as Tony led the Cowboys to two second half touchdowns but it was not enough as the Cowboys fell to the New York Giants 36-22.

2006 Week 9 (Dallas Cowboys 19 @ Washington Redskins 22)
Tony Romo continued to improve and had his first zero interception game while tossing 2 more Touchdown passes. Unfortunately for the Cowboys, they invented a new way to loose a game. Tony Romo led the Cowboys down the field during the final minutes of the game setting them up for a last second victory. As the Cowboys attempted a last second game winning field goal, a Redskin defender burst through the line unblocked and blocked the field goal attempt, during the Redskin return, the Cowboys were flagged with a 15 yard face mask, the subsequent penalty ontop of the return put the Redskins in position to kick their own game winning field goal with NO TIME on the clock. Despite the disappointing loss, the Cowoys appear to have found a future in young Tony Romo.

2006 Week 11 (Indianapolis Colts 14 @ Dallas Cowboys 21)
Tony Romo's home debut as the starting quarterback came against the NFL's lone undefeated team. The Colts played poorly but were still contrilling the game due to the Cowboys lack luster effort on offense. For the first time since becoming a starter, Romo failed to throw a touchdown pass. He did have his best completion percentage though completing 19 of 23 passes. The Cowboys failed to score in the 1st half but were sparked by a Kevin Burnett Interception return for a touchdown early in the 3rd quarter. Romo led the Cowboys to 2 long touchdown drives in the 4th quarter to take the lead and the defense held on for a much needed win.

2006 Week 16 (Philadelphia Eagles 23 @ Dallas Cowboys 7)
With the division in their grasp the Cowboys laid an egg to Division Rival Philadelphia loosing 23-7. Scoring the fewest points since Tony Romo became the starter, the Cowboys returned to a very familiar late season form by failing to live up to the Hype and challenge of winning the NFC East. The Eagles turned Romomania into nomomania holding him to his lowest passing yard performance of the season.

2006 WILD CARD PLAYOFFS (Dallas Cowboys 20 @ Seattle Seahawks 21)
The Cowboys 2006 season ended abruptly after a botched field goal snap swept victory from their grasp. In their first playoff game in 3 seasons, the Dallas Cowboys went toe to toe with the defending NFC Champions in their backyard and were poised to upset the Seahawks when a shiney football slipped through Tony Romo's fingers. It was a very disappointing end to an otherwise very surprising and uplifting season. Regardless of the ending, the Cowboys lookto have found a future at QB in young Tony Romo!.
